im 22 and the hair below my ass, I recently discovered that I have alopecia areata is a disease that stops you from ur immune system protects the body and heart attack, its something ur born with it and ‘n is not contagious . and took my hair, now I have bald heads. I have to help all comments are welcome, except to say, I’m tough enough with that, the answer merciMeilleure :
Answer by Mike

approximately 50% of patients, the hair grows back in a year without any treatment. During the period of hair loss, less the likelihood that the hair grows back. A variety of treatments can be tried. Steroid injections, creams and shampoos (such as clobetasol or fluocinonide) for the scalp have been used for many years. Other medications include minoxidil, irritants (anthralin or topical coal tar), and topical immunotherapy (cyclosporine), each of which is sometimes used in the study of different combinaisons.Une published in the journal Archives of Dermatology ( vol. 134, 1998, from 1.349 to 1.352) demonstrated the effectiveness of aromatherapy essential oils (cedarwood, lavender, thyme, and rosemary oils) in some patients. As with many chronic diseases for which no single treatment, a variety of remedies are promoted which do not actually have any benefit. There is no known effective prevention method, despite the elimination of emotional stress is felt to be useful. No drugs or hair products has been associated with the onset of alopecia areata. Much research remains to be completed in this complex disease.

I already know about propecia and rogaine……..

Best answer:

Answer by Diesel
Yeah, it’s called a hat and a razor. Oh yeah, you could try propecia and rogaine but your results will vary.

I don’t think there is much more to learn. It is a result of genetics, usually from your mothers side.

The Most Effective Baldness Treatments

There are so many hair products and drugs that are said to treat baldness. Some of these products do cure baldness while some simply just don’t work. Customers are then faced with the difficulty of determining which of these drugs and products can really cure baldness. Well worry no longer for this article is going to reveal some of the most effective baldness treatments that are available on today’s market.

The first treatment for baldness that has proven to be effective is chemotherapy. Chemotherapy involves the use of chemicals to cure baldness. Drugs such as finasteride, minoxidil, avodart and ketoconazole have all produced excellent results when it comes to dealing with baldness. The only set back that comes with treating baldness with drugs is that the moment a patient stops using the drug hair loss may continue again. Use of these drugs should however be done under the advice of a medical practitioner so as to avoid unnecessary side effects caused by genetics and allergies.

The next baldness treatment that produces more permanent results as compared to the use of baldness drugs is hair transplant surgery. Hair transplant surgery involves the extraction of hair follicles from regions that have dense hair growth and placing them on areas of the scalp that has no hair growth. The result is that hair will start to grow in the sections that had no hair growth. If the cause of baldness is also removed further hair loss from transplanted hair follicles may not occur thus resulting in a more permanent solution for baldness. Hair transplants do however have some side effects among which include contamination of the skin which may lead to immune reactions leading to necrosis resulting in further hair loss. Modern technology and medicine has however evolved to eliminate possible chances of infection and rejection of transplanted hair follicles, thus making the procedure highly successful in replacing lost hair.

          ]]>

Herbal treatment of the hair is another effective way of treating baldness. Herbs are good in that unlike drugs they have little or no known side effects. Herbs eliminate the buildup of toxins that kill hair follicles. Herbs also boost the body’s immune system making it successfully fight off infection that would otherwise cause hair loss.

There is also something called a hair diet. One can go on a hair diet which will boost hair growth. A hair diet is a diet that is rich in minerals such as copper, zinc, iron, phosphorus, B complex vitamins, and essential amino acids among many other important nutrients. All these nutrients will be used in the synthesis of blood cells and blood which will also increase oxygen and nutrient supply to growing hair follicles thus curing baldness.

Exercise is one of the most successful baldness treatments that is risk free. Exercise improves the cardiovascular system. This improves the rate of supply of oxygen and nutrients to hair follicles, thus increasing hair growth. Exercise also improves the body’s digestive system, thus increasing the capacity at which the body taps minerals and nutrients from food to supply hair follicles.

Hair Loss Treatments and Prevention for Men and Women

It all starts with DHT (dihydrotestosterone). The distress, insecurity, and anxiety that are usually part of dealing with hairloss–or alopecia or baldness–all boils down to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). When testosterones are acted upon by 5-alpha reductase enzymes, a percentage of the testosterones are converted into more potent hormones, which are dihydrotestosterones. The buildup of DHT in the scalp causes damage to the hair follicles. This damage comes in the form of shrinking (miniaturization) of the hair follicles, thereby only capable of growing short, thin, colorless strands. Also, the formation of DHT in the scalp pushes the hair follicles into a resting stage wherein no new strands are grown to replace the hair shafts that have been shed. This is usually a case of thinning hair which eventually worsens to alopecia. Thankfully, there are hair-loss treatments that can counter these bothersome effects.

One of the leading hair-loss treatments for the baldness of men and women is minoxidil. This is the first FDA-approved hair-loss drug in the United States. This hair-loss medication comes in different concentration solutions: 5 percent for men and 2 percent for women; it usually comes in the form of a topical solution for the scalp. Minoxidil treats hairloss by stimulating the hair follicles into the growth stage so as to resume the production of healthy strands. The use of minoxidil, however, has been reported to have caused side effects such as severe itching and swelling of the scalp, heart palpitations, nausea, and fainting.

Hair loss treatments are deemed more effective when they can target the production of DHT in the scalp. One such treatment is the use of a topical serum that contains saw palmetto extracts. The use of this hairloss product blocks the formation of DHT by inhibiting type 1 and type 2 forms of the 5-alpha reductase enzymes, hence stopping the onset of alopecia and preventing further baldness. Due to the natural ingredients, harmful side effects are highly avoided.

In addition, you should also pick a hair-loss product which has a blend of a natural herbal ingredient. The natural hair-loss product aims to provide a natural cure for hairloss. Unlike the synthetic products the natural hairloss product does not advocate the use of strong and harmful chemicals but is constituted of natural ingredients which are soft on the scalp and nourish it in a very gentle manner. Natural hair loss products are developed using natural herbs and are clinically tested to ensure their suitability of use by humans.

You also need to consider the application methodology of the hair growth product. For instance, the mode of applying a hair loss shampoo also determines its feasibility for hair. An ideal hair thinning shampoo would always have a different application methodology for different types of hair. This may include normal hair, dry hair, oily hair and more.

Androgenetic Alopecia Treatments – The Power of Three!

While many supposed androgenetic alopecia treatments are out there, very few of them fully address the real reason for your condition. There is only one root cause of this condition, and that is the starvation of your hair follicles.

Thankfully, the list of causes for your follicles dying of hunger is a very short one. In truth, there are merely three little culprits. And it’s actually quite easy to treat each of them, which is why I’m so excited to be sharing this information with you!

Androgenetic Alopecia Treatments – Before We Continue:

Don’t get too excited yet, though… I’ve got something important to say. The reality is that your condition may not even be treatable. If you’ve let it go for too long, and are showing patches of scalp that are entirely bald, with zero hair cover, it is likely too late for you.

In this case, there is a high probability that a hair transplant is the only hair loss treatment that will work for you. Of course, you will want to get a proper diagnosis from a qualified professional, as well as a recommendation for any treatments that may help you.

I am about to share three steps for hair restoration that have been of great benefit many men with treatable hair loss. Each of those three culprits for follicle malnourishment we discussed above are confronted by the actions outlined in this plan. May this serve you well!

Androgenetic Alopecia Treatments – #1:

Consume adequate nutrition.

Elementary, but true. If your blood isn’t carrying what your follicles need to survive, then how can you prevent your condition from worsening? It is very unlikely that you can.

It is absolutely critical that you get ample amounts of vitamin B6, zinc, vitamin A, copper, magnesium, vitamin E, and follic acid.

While it may be true that healthy foods are the best sources of these nutrients, high quality supplements provide far better efficiency, convenience, and peace of mind. Anyway, truly healthy food is anything but cheap these days!

Androgenetic Alopecia Treatments – #2:

Arrest the murderer!

          ]]>

The androgen (sex hormone) dihydrotestosterone, or dht, is directly to blame for the majority of your problem. Those of us with androgenetic alopecia have a genetic predisposition to manufacture too much of it within our bodies.

This messed-up hormone binds itself to your hair follicles, keeping them from drinking in vital nutriment from the blood. In essence, dht slowly murders your hair follicles! But this can certainly change.

You can find a number of dht blockers on the market. Maybe you’ve even heard of one… finasteride, a.k.a. Propecia. This highly effective hair restoration treatment is FDA approved and proven to work.

However, a number of men have suffered from long term sexual side effects as a result of taking finasteride. Among these are infertility, impotence, and decreased sex drive. Though these risks are somewhat low, affecting only 1 or 2 men in 100, a good number of men decide not to gamble.

Instead, they seek out a good all-natural anti-androgen. Among the most powerful of these is saw palmetto extract. Other known natural anti-androgens include green tea, pumpkin seed oil, and nettle root. Blocking dht is absolutely critical in reversing your hair loss. Do NOT skip this step!

Androgenetic Alopecia Treatments – #3:

Restore circulation to your scalp!

I couldn’t care less how successful you are at blocking dht or taking your vitamins. If your blood can’t even get to your starving follicles, then your hair loss will most likely continue. Do NOT let that happen!

A great way to promote healthy scalp circulation is with minoxidil. Perhaps the most effective hair loss treatment of all time, minoxidil dilates the little capillaries throughout your scalp, effectively nursing your ailing follicles back to health. By simply applying a minoxidil topical (5%) to your scalp each day, you can begin to enjoy noticeable hair regrowth in just a few short weeks… for some men it’s only taken days!

Androgenetic Alopecia Treatments – Closing Thoughts:

By following this plan, you are providing yourself with an excellent chance at full hair restoration. It’s an extremely basic idea. You give the blood nutrients, you remove the bad stuff from your blood, and you make sure your follicles receive the blood. Totally synergistic and magically powerful.

One product that does all three of these incredible things is Provillus.

If your condition is still treatable, and you would like to take a closer look at Provillus, you are invited to do so at this time.

I am a 30 year old African American female who is expecting. I currently start to experience a severe itchy scalp with some hair loss (hair shedding). This all occured about 2 weeks ago. I have yet talk to my doctor because I have been trying to treat it with a product called Sulfur 8 ( shampoo and hair conditioner). I still have not found a relief as of yet.

Best answer:

Answer by Brittany
black people have to have oils in their hair to prevent it from breaking and itching. and apparently, you aren’t giving your hair enough oil. washing it doesn’t help because it’ll just make it dryer. you should wash your hair once a week. and massage your scalp everyday with hair grease. go to a local hair store and find some.

Male Pattern Baldness Treatments: Do They Really Work?

The statistics are quite staggering, by the time they reach the age of 50, 50% of the worlds’ male population are affected by male pattern baldness. Many men just accept this and get on with life, but more men are learning about the newly affordable male pattern baldness treatments and want to keep their crowning glory. These new treatments started becoming available over fifteen years ago, but unless you were quite well off cost was always a major prohibiting factor (John Travolta was reported as spending around 00 a month for his treatment). Now prices are down to a level where most people can afford high quality treatments and if started early enough there is no reason why you should ever go bald. Having said that it should be made clear that there are still no miracle cures, if you are now completely bald there is still very little that can be done apart from wearing a hairpiece. But treatments can be very effective in re-growing hair for some people. It is a matter of learning what is possible and setting your expectations accordingly. There are a few things you should know before seeking a particular type of treatment. It is firstly important to understand why male pattern baldness occurs and how it develops before deciding which of the currently available treatments is right for you.

Why Hair Loss Occurs

Male pattern hair loss, also known as androgenetic alopecia is a genetically predetermined condition. The main contributing factor for causing it is the male hormone testosterone, hence this is why few females suffer from the condition and why castrated males never go bald. But testosterone does not directly cause hair loss, it interacts with an enzyme called 5-alpha reductase to produce the real culprit, a derived hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is widely acknowledged to be the main cause of hair loss in men. Men lucky enough not to go bald have hair that is resistant to the effects of DHT.

          ]]>

Topical Application

Now that it is known what causes male pattern baldness many hair loss shampoos have been developed specifically to remove DHT from the scalp. These types of products are deep cleansing agents known as DHT blockers and have been used effectively to stop further hair loss and provide the optimum conditions to stimulate new hair growth. You may have heard of Minoxidil male pattern baldness treatment, this is not a DHT blocker, it is thought to work by directly stimulating cell growth in the hair follicle thereby giving it a resistance to DHT. The results though are the same and because they work differently, Minoxidil and DHT blockers can be used together for an even more effective hair loss treatment.

Internal Drugs

One of the most effective oral medications for treating hair loss was discovered accidentally when developing a cure for enlarged prostate gland in men. This drug was finasteride and it was found that in low doses finasteride was effective in preventing of male pattern baldness. It is now one of very few drugs with FDA approval for the prevention and treatment of male pattern baldness and only available on prescription.

As a natural alternative to Finasteride, a herb called Saw Palmetto is often claimed to be able to reduce DHT and therefore prevent male pattern balding. There are now many natural male pattern baldness treatments that contain saw palmetto and while only small scale clinical trials have been conducted results have been positive.

Transplants

As a last resort hair transplantation may be the only option for men with a bald patch greater than about ten centimetres (4 inches). This generally involves removing a doner strip of scalp from the neck area and grafting doner follicles to the bald patch. Scalp reduction is another surgical procedure where the bald scalp area is removed altogether with the remaining scalp skin pulled together. While this may seem quite drastic it can be a quite effective procedure in removing small bald patches

Conclusions

For many men baldness is accepted as part of the aging process and they adapt gracefully to their new look. But with many new male pattern baldness treatments available, men now have a choice in preventing hair loss altogether if they act early enough. The treatment is often needed for life but for many men that could be one of the best investments they ever make!
