Question by : Hairloss in 14 years old male ! Help !!?
Hi , I am a 14 year old male that have been experiencing very severe hairloss for about 1.5 years . My hairloss started when I was about 13 years old which is the time where I notice I am having puberty . My family have no history of male pattern baldness . My hair is thinning so bad that you can see the scalp on the left side of my crown and now there is also severe thinning in the middle of my crown . I do not have any receding hairline , I also have very thin hair . If you shine flashlight on my hair you can see my scalp . I also have very oily hair . People have been making fun of my hair and I am very sad about it . I have done hair test and blood test and I am perfectly fine the docter told me to just have to wait like 6 month to see if my hair recover or become worst . I am overweight since i am about 10 and I used to have very bad diet 2 years ago , that diet consist mostly of instant noodle and other readily pack food for like almost everyday . Please guys I need help and is it possible for male patten hairloss to start at the start of puberty ?? I am having a healthy lifestyle now and just got out of the overweight zone for like 3 weeks but no improvement .

Answer by Kaviani999
Short answer is that you’re more or less stuck with it. Hair growth is a complex function in the human body that’s basically hormonal in nature, and if you’re mid-puberty, you need to wait it all out before tinkering with your hormones or you could end up with a far worse condition.

That does suck that you are distressed over it and are getting bullied for it. I suggest a buzzcut and deny people their attacks…plus, most guys just look better w/very short hair (or bald).

Also, this is not entirely uncommon. My uncle had lost most of his crown hair by age 19, never grew back; same w/a few guys in my high school. So I guess the good news is that you’re not a freak.

Question by Reza N: medication for male pattern hairloss ?
I saw a lot of hairs falling down when i was 20 ! then i started finasteride 1mg and minoxidill 5% for 6 month , it was working amazing so i stopped using finasteride but still using minoxidill. after 6month i saw my hairs are falling down again. so should i start using finasteride ? i heared if you use after few month your body will make more DHT to decrease the effect of drug so you will see hairloss although using finasteride and in that situation if you stop using finasteride your hair loss will begin stronger than before.
so any suggestion for me about using or not using finasteride? should i keep using minoxidil? my hair color is black and i still dont have any hairloss area in my hairs but i diagnosed alopecia with number of hairs falling.
thanks

The reason I ask , is because It was kind of a sudden onset….Instead of gradual . I noticed a patch of hairloss in late December 2010 , and it has not really worsened…Infact the hair has grown a little longer in that area.

I also HAVE NOT noticed any receding in the hairline or near the temples….. Which goes hand in hand with male pattern baldness.

Question by bob b: Hairloss young male?
hi im an 18 year old male. my hair has been falling out for a while now, i first started to notice it this summer, about 5 months ago.

well it has stayed the same since then and im getting worried, i get a hair whenever i run my hands through my hair, i lose a lot in the towel when i dry my hair.

i had a thryroid problem that started this time last year, a hyperactive thryroid problem. i dont remeber the exact problem but they did a bunch of test and told me it was some passing thyroid problem almost like a cold for my thyroid and that my levels where back to normal.

is it possible the postthyroid problems are causing this hairloss now?? i dont have any symptoms that i had

last time i lost almost 20 points i had a really high pulse and shaky hands now i have nothing like that.

could this just be my hormone levels evening out, does it take this long?

thanks

Best answer:

Answer by bodmodangel
hair loss can also be caused by stress. I have lost alot of hair this year going through 2 knee surgeries and a chronic pain condition. I would just wait it out.

Question by Bubba: Is “thinning hair” one of the first stages of Male Pattern Baldness?
I am a 25 year old male. My hair has been dramatically thinning the last few years. I also have a “bald spot” at the back of my head.

My Dad doesn’t have a lot of hair on his head, and neither do his brothers. My Mom’s Dad also didn’t have a lot of hair on his head (he was bald like how Dr. Phil McGraw currently is).

Best answer:

Answer by Taylor George
It can be. Although given you already have a bald spot I think your hair is not long for your head.
