Question by B K: Hairloss is forcing me to start a new chapter in life…?
I have been taking my hairloss very badly. It started when I was 18 and I am now 30. For the last 3 years it has been to the point that it definitely changed how pople(women) see me. I used to be so attractive but now I feel like a lepar. I have taken the drugs and use the rogaine but nothing works. So now I am at a point where I have to accept what I have changed into and try to move on. I am thinking of just getting rid of all my hair but I don’t have a suitable head for shaving. Men’s hairloss may not be a major health concern like cancer or anything but what it can do emotionally is beyond belief. I am not alone in this either. I guess I am just asking if anyone has some thoughts on the issue.

Question by amygdala: what is the best treatment for alopecia?(hair loss)?
are there some home remedy or vitamins we can take.

Best answer:

Answer by aa_abc1
The first choice of treatment would be a cortocosteroid cream or lotion which is applied directly to the bald areas. An alternative is an injection of cortocosteroid directly onto and around the bald area.

Oral cortisone is sometimes prescribed for extensive scalp loss or when the condition is rapidly spreading.

There also are Dithranol, Retin A – Tretinoin or Oral zinc.

For treatments for greater than 50% hair loss include Systematic Cortisone, PUVA or Irritants.

Hi my mom lost her hair from a crash diet she lost 50 pounds and her hair fell out will it grow back if she eats right and what can she eat to make it grow back And/Or to pervent further hair loss if not can you’s tell me some other things she can do and if yous have sources Please mention them Thank You.

Best answer:

Answer by *T*
her hair should grow back if she starts eating right. she may want to see her doctor and get her blood scanned for any vitamin deficiencies. besides that she should take a multi vitamin rich in B vitamins. i take futurebiotics hair, skin & nails vitamins and they make my hair grow fast.

Question by zbua: Yaz BC, hairloss, what now?
hi i’m 20 years old, and I switched from quanese (generic seasonale) to Yaz because I got horrible sore pimples and depression.(was on quanese for 1.5 yrs)
I’ve been on Yaz for 6 months now. I noticed hairloss and thinning within a month of taking the pill. I thought it would go away and get better once my body adjusted. I have no other complaints then the thinning hair. my sore pimples and depression symptoms subsided.
I also lost my health insurance. so I was curious if anyone had switched from yaz for similar symptoms and what has been working well for you.
Also if anyone knows of any cheap bc pills without insurance. I know of planned parenthood clinics, but their bcp are inconsistant. and i used condoms too. but i like to have a backup.
thanks
I take a daily vitamin everyday and lead a fairly healthy lifestyle. I dont drink soda ever, rarely tea, and i refuse to eat fast food. thats why thinning hair has really bothered me…

Best answer:

Answer by neila
This is probably not useful information, but your best bet for cheap bcp is probably a free clinic or the city health department. It seems you are familiar with this… also, they probably only provide a very basic generic pill.
You know, it’s a long shot but some pharmaceutical companies can provide you with free/reduced rate medicines if you’re in an extreme situation. Check on their consumer website or try calling a customer service hot-line. It might not be available, but if it is it’d be a great option.
I am not familiar with the hairloss bit with yaz. I have been taking yaz for six months and have had no major side affects, and no hairloss. Try searching online to see if this is normal and related to the pill. I think it might be, but I don’t know how to deal with it.
