What causes hair loss is an ancient mystery that slowly begins to be revealed by the researchers of hair. But in reality when you can deepen what causes hair loss, we must first have a better understanding of hair and the delicate cycle of replacement that goes unnoticed until a failure occurs.

Androgenetic alopecia tends to follow a predictable pattern, with hair loss in men who form the M-shaped design defined by a back hair, moderately or severely bald on top, and loss of hair in the area of the crown. Women, on the other hand, tend to experience a general thinning on top, but almost always are safe for baldness in men. They usually do not see the formation of M.
This condition has a hereditary component, is progressive, and not reversed without any treatment.
The most effective is the drug twice daily topical minoxidil solution. Minoxidil works to expand shrunken hair follicles, extending a lifetime of hair and stimulate dormant hair to grow. Minoxidil is widely available, relatively inexpensive, and can be safely used by men and women. On the negative side, once that topical application has frozen all new development will eventually wither and die.
What next? Currently there are a handful of new growth of hair growth products (especially formulated for men and women) who have demonstrated their effectiveness in blocking both hormones are harmful and lead to hair follicles of all major dead to life. These specially formulated treatments can be used both as a prevention tool, starting before hair loss becomes severe, or after the hair loss became apparent.
